The dam was under so much immense pressure it was said to be tilting at a 1/2 a degree forward angle.

How is it possible that 200 year old houses that have been maintained are still standing with out all the metal hardware and no plywood are still standing? They didn't use metal strapping they didn't use hericane clips they didn't use gigantic bolts and tie downs to the foundation? Why did building codes sale out to engineered wood and Simpson when it's been proven for over 200 years they are not needed until you get into large commercial buildings?

Anyone here wish they would've kept the old park back there too? I don't see why they had to tear it down. Would've been nice to have a little more options and nostalgia for the old skaters who made so many memories at the OG park. I remember very vividly learning how to drop in on the "big bowl, and using that roll in to get speed and launch out the other side. Good times, man.

I agree with you on the MASA straps… my house was built with these during the Bubble back in 2005-2006…walls were delivered pre framed that’s why they used them. I prefer 5/8” HDG A.B. or Epoxy set RTF. (Retro fit bolts)
